Where is the city of St. John’s in British America?

Three cities with similar names in British North America are frequently confused in the United States. St. John’s is not in Canada. It is the capital and most populous city of Newfoundland, which is not part of Canada either geographically or politically. St. Johns, written without the sign of the possessive, is the name of a small town on the Richelieu in the Canadian province of Quebec. St. John, which is spelled without a final s, is the name of the most populous city in the province of New Brunswick.
